putting up an online business

One of my friends has been thinking of putting up an online business. He contacted me about it since he knows I am blogging for a long time. He has this idea that I know how to create a website. He doesn’t know hubby is the one who created everything. All I do is to update the blog post and that’s it.

Even if that is the case, I do have little knowledge over website creation. I told him to look for a hosting provider where he found the hostgator. He can choose the shared hosting plan so he won’t be burdened by huge fees, besides he is still starting his business. I’m certain he doesn’t have too many visitors and customers yet. He can just upgrade to dedicated server once he grows his business. For now, he can make use of the shared hosting.

Well, that is where we end our conversation. I haven’t heard from him again. I guess he is not that interested about it.

Facts about Collagen injections

In the late 1980s, collagen got a reputation as a lip-plumper thanks to Barbara Hershey’s enhanced pout in the movie Beaches. Today, collagen is still popular, but it’s more likely to fill indented scars and those deep lines that run between the nose and mouth, and the mouth and chin.

Collagen lasts longer when injected into those areas of the face where there isn’t a lot of muscle movement.

Vegetarians should keep in mind that collagen comes from cow cadavers, although there is a version called Dermalogen that is extracted from human cadavers. If this gruesome information doesn’t dim your desire to try collagen, visit your dermatologist. He or she will administer an allergy test; usually, this is a small injection of the material in the forearm. If after 2 weeks no redness or rash develops, you can return to have collagen injected into your face’s dermis. While collagen is extremely natural-looking, its effects are short-lived, lasting anywhere from 2 to 6 months.

During Cold Season Avoid Touching your Face

In the meantime the cold and flu season is still here, and will continue to be for yet another while, its best we do everything we can to make sure we don’t come down with something as well. Other than dressing appropriately and making sure we get the recommended dose of daily vitamins, doctors also tell us we should not touch our face too often if we don’t want to risk catching something.

For instance, we should definitely restrain ourselves from touching our face when we’re in public places, like the bus, a cab, the gym, or at work. Of course, it’s impossible to stay germ-free all day long, health experts say, but the least we can do is make sure we don’t make physical contact with objects that others have also touched, and then rub our hands all over our face or, even worse, our mouth.

In order to do that, we must constantly check ourselves to not rest the head on our palm when staring at the computer screen, for example, absently rub a part of our face while engaged in some other activity at work or, for women, apply lipstick or gloss with the finger. Similarly, we’re not to put objects into our mouth (pencil or pen), especially if they’ve been on a desk that others have touched as well – this goes especially for those who do this compulsively.

How to Compare Housing Costs

Don’t make the mistake of thinking finding cheap housing is all about the lowest price or monthly rental charge. A house for $10,000 less may mean paying $60 to $90 less per month on the mortgage, but if it means driving 10 miles more to and from work, and your car costs 30-cents-per-mile to operate, that’s an extra $120 per month right there. Look at the following when comparing options:

  • Loan costs – A higher interest rate on a small house may make the payments higher than those on a lower-interest owner-financed home which costs more. Consider the interest costs.
  • Home owner insurance - Really cheap housing may not be so cheap if you have to pay more because of old heating systems or being in a flood or earthquake area.
  • Taxes - A block or two can be dramatic in the cost of property taxes, depending on whether you are in or out of the city or township.
  • Car expenses - It is not only your job, but also stores that can be further away if you are too far out of the city. Estimate your monthly car expenses based on the location and your habits.
  • Gas, electric and other utilities - Your heating bill can be twice as high on a drafty old house versus a new energy-efficient one. Consider electricity, water, sewer and garbage collection expenses too.
  • Repairs - Some homes are truly ready to live in without any work needed. Try to estimate the next three-year’s repairs and divide by 36 to get a monthly figure to compare. [Read more...]

showing him my support

Hubby is a bit enthusiastic over photography. He wanted to learn a lot of things in line with taking pictures. That’s why he purchased a lot of photography ebook since the beginning of the month. I am quite certain there is nothing wrong about that. In fact, I wanted to show him my deepest support by suggesting Nikon binoculars.

It sounds too far-out from taking photos. But, the eyes have little capacity to see long distance objects. So, he needs one of those binoculars to get great subjects that are from afar before he can take a snap. I’m sure this gadget can help him a lot especially now that he is focusing on becoming a great photographer.

Anyway, even if I am supportive to his new passion, I still remind him about his upcoming exam. It returns him to reality that he is indeed taking an exam this March. So, he can’t go on yet until he finishes the exam.

Home Remedies for Menstrual cramps

Menstrual cramps usually begin right before or at the start of your period. They can cause mild to severe pain in your lower belly, back, or thighs. Some women also have headaches, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, dizziness, or fainting. Here are some home remedies for it:

  • Put a heating pad (set on low) or a hot water bottle on your belly, or take a warm bath. Heat improves blood flow and may ease the pain.
  • Lie down and put a pillow under your knees, or lie on your side and bring your knees up to your chest. This may help relieve back pressure.
  • Use pads instead of tampons. This may help if you also have vaginal pain.
  • Get regular exercise. This helps blood flow and may reduce cramping.
