Preventive measures to avoid cancer….

Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to billions. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

There are two ways in treating cancer that is chemotherapy and radiation. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc. Radiation however destroys cancer cells and also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs. Initial treatment with these two will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use does not result in more tumor destruction. They can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply. CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Mänuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

c. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans.

d. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Daily exercising and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Don’t Forget Your Sun Block…

Studies show that a large number of people are diagnosed with skin cancer every year, and a strong correlation is linked between those who are regularly exposed to the sun and the disease itself. According to scientific research, there is no such a thing as a “healthy tan”. Tanning is, basically, the skin’s reaction to damage already done, and a defensive attempt to protect itself from further harm.

Calling Doctor Fish!

Doctor Fish Therapy

It may feel itchy!

This is the latest buzz I’ve heard from far away Republic of Turkey.

Did you know that Turkish people have doctor fish? You’ve read it right Doctor Fish or Garra Ruffa! Even I could not believe it but there is a kind of fish in that country that heals wound due to psoriasis. They live in hot springs created by volcano vent, yup hot environment. The fishes actually eat the dead skin created from the flaking of psoriasis. It really sounds grouse but believe it after being eaten by Dr. Fishy wounds really heal. Whoa imagine how it feels when fishes feast on your skin continuity.

Scientist already made their conclusion regarding doctor fish. According to them this fishes have high calcium and protein content, a valuable minerals that helps in clotting skin lesions. The sulfur content of the spring water may also contribute to the healing process because sulfur is an antifungal mineral.

Even with the advent of modern medicine, practices like the Doctor fish therapy still plays an important role in healing psoriasis for the some Turkish people. Nice one ha.

You Snooze, You Lose

Add one hour of sleep to your schedule, and you could drop up to 14 pounds this year. New data shows that you’ll likely eat six percent less if you replaced 60 minutes of awake time (when you may snack) with an hour of shut eye. And a Harvard study that tracked around 68,000 women found that those who clocked only five or fewer hours of rest a night had a 32 percent greater chance of gaining more than 30 pounds over a 16-year period than those who got seven hours of sleep.

fish as memory enhancer

The idea that fish is brain food may be more than folklore. In a recent study of 2031 elderly men and women, researchers found that those who regularly ate seafood did significantly better on cognitive tests than those who ate a little and none. The more fish the study subjects ate – top performers averaged 2.6 ounces a day – the better they did on the tests, which included measures of memory and attention. A typical serving is four to six ounces, but think beyond fillets and steaks. You can enjoy smoke salmon with your morning eggs or add canned tuna to a spicy tomato sauce and serve over pasta. You can also toss minced anchovies in your salad since they add zip without being too fishy. Such a good news for a fishy lover like me.
