Jolie Don’t Like Obama?

Jolie Don't Like ObamaAccording to the news, Angelina Jolie was reaping praises from the media after the word got out that she and Brad Pitt contributed with approximately $6.4 million to charity this year. Today, she’s again tabloid fodder because she secretly hates President Barack Obama for not sharing the same views as her on the measures that need to be implemented for progress.

As the actress sees it, Obama is actually mostly trying to get people’s attention away from what’s really important with the help of rather cheap tactics. Moreover, her opinions as regards the President and the measures he’s taken so far have often made it so that she and partner Brad Pitt, an outspoken Obama supporter, have repeatedly gotten into heated arguments.

Her political views often clash with that of Brad, and the fight a lot precisely because both are committed to what they believe and can hardly accept that someone else could also be right. They get in nasty arguments all the time about it. She doesn’t respect Brad when it comes to politics, but in the end, this won’t tear them apart, reportedly by close friend of the couple.

On a brighter note, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s charitable efforts got a lot of positive media the other day, when it emerged they had donated over $6 million to several causes they have supported throughout the years. Of these, $2 million went to Global Health, $1 million to Human Rights Watch, $1 million to Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation, $500,000 to the Armed Services YMCA of the US Army, $50,000 to the Springfield, Missouri Public Schools, and $1 million for several projects in Cambodia.

truth from Jacksons doctor

Michael Jackson’s doctor has spoken publicly for the first time since the singer died. Dr Conrad Murray, who was with the star when he suffered a cardiac arrest on 25 June, posted a video on YouTube thanking his supporters. In the short 1min clip, Dr Murray said: “I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail.”

He has not been named as an official suspect in the investigation. However, court records have identified the 51-year-old as the subject of a manslaughter enquiry and he has been interviewed twice by police.

So far Dr Murray has shied away from speaking in public with statements being made through his lawyer. In fact Murray said that because of all that is going on, he is afraid to return phone calls or use e-mail. Also he said “I recorded this video to let all of you know that I have been receiving your messages. Your messages give me strength and courage and keep me going. They mean the world to me.”

earlier news today

According to the news a little earlier today, a tanker full of molasses tumble on a heavy traffic road. It makes the road very slippery which cause motorcycles and other four-wheel vehicle slip the road. The tanks size hinders official to remove it from the road. And its contents continue to flow as cars, trucks and motorcycle pass by. One motorcycle which is caught by the camera is having hard time passing through the slippery road. The driver and its passenger fall down the road with other motorcycles. I bet motorcycle accident attorneys will be busier if the problem continues. Good thing they are not badly injured. But burns are already ground for compensation, I think.

Amazing nine-year-old make iPhone game app

I’m sure that everytime you can figure out something odd you always think you’re pretty hot stuff like configuring your Facebook status from your iPhone, but you’ve got nothing on Lim Ding Wen.

A nine-year-old Malaysian boy in Singapore has written a painting application for the Apple iPhone. He created the finger painting program, known as Doodle Kids, for his two younger sisters aged three and five. Basically, the program allows iPhone owners to draw images on the handset’s touch screen using just their fingers. This program racked up over 4,000 downloads from Apple’s iTunes store in less than two weeks.

Lim, who is now fluent in six programming languages, first started using a computer when he was two-years-old, discovered programming aged seven, and has since completed more than 20 programming projects. What an amazing 9 years old boy that can make something like this.

Mercury Became Smaller?

During the fly-by around Mercury, the Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging, or MESSENGER, observed what seemed to be scalloped edged cliffs which had been mostly created by the shrinking action of the planet as it cooled in time. The same evidence has been observed by the Mariner 10 orbiter during its three fly-bys around the planet, albeit Mariner 10 images seem to suggest that they could have only formed in the early history of Mercury.

The real question is: why isn’t any older features remnant of the shrinking of Mercury on its surface. Virginia Tech professor Scott D. King believes that the loss of heat from the mantle through the crust may have also had an important role in the dynamics of the formation of scalloped edges. Thus, while waiting for the MESSENGER spacecraft to collect gravity and topographic data in order to test this theory, professor King started creating a computer simulation of the silicate mantle of Mercury to model the three-dimensional heat convection patterns which take place beneath the surface.

According to King, mantle convection of Mercury would form long and linear rolls on the surface, opposite to compression alone which would create a random pattern. Further still, it is now obvious that these features created by contraction, assisted by heat convection, are much more different that what we have seen on all the other rocky planets in the solar system, because Mercury is much smaller than the others – meaning it would have a thinner mantle and a larger core in relation to its size.

This basically means that the orientation of the features is determined only by mantle convection, thus MESSENGER could collect data to confirm the model, as all evidence points towards a still active convection process. It is clear that scalloped edged cliffs stopped forming a couple of billions of years ago, but the planet is so cool now that not even mantle convection could further modify the structure of the surface.

Football buzz…

The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the MTN Africa Cup of Nations due to the competition’s sponsorship by the MTN Group based from South Africa, is the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the football championship of Africa. Ghana won the right to host the tournament after defeating Libya 9–3 in a vote among Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee members in Cairo. South Africa withdrew their bid after winning the right to host the 2010 World Cup. The tournament is being held between 20 January and 10 February 2008.

Currently Cameroon and Egypt will compete for the finals. Cameroon defeated the home crowd favorite Ghana (1-0) when Alain Nkong made the goal. Meanwhile Egypt defeated Ivory Coast (4-1), Ahmed Fathi, Amr Zaky and Mohamed Aboutreika gave Egypt the advantage over Ivory Coast. Later today Egypt and Cameroon will compete in Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra. The winner of the tournament will represent CAF at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. Global recession!

Global recession is no longer new to us; we heard that this is going to happen any moment from now. Accordingly this will occur if the US economy continues to weaken leaving other countries vulnerable to economic crunch. Hmm we could not deny the fact that all nations around the world rely mostly on US for their growth. The Philippines for example is dependent to US as its biggest trading partner. If recession will worsen the supposed goods of the Philippines that is to be shipped in the US will ceased. Result?, virtually no trade will occur. What a bad scenario right? Today investors around the world are anxious and many of the major stock markets like Straight Times (SG), Topix (JP), All Ordinaries (AU) and HangSeng (HK) slumped to their biggest losses this year, Even the Phisix of the Philippines suffered. We clearly see the domino effect of this crisis and what’s worst? We the income earner will surely be affected. Anyway good luck to us all! Adios!
