fighting fine lines

When I got a chance to take a look at some of my picture on my friend’s wedding last February 27, I can’t help to notice the wrinkles on my friend’s face. The wrinkles around her eyes are so obvious that it showed even in long distance pictures. This is not a good indicator as she is way younger than I am. That is the reason I immediately check my face. Luckily, I can’t find deep lines.

Well, since I have few fine lines, I think I need to use wrinkle creams. But, I am not sure about it because I am already using a moisturizing cream at night. Plus, it is an additional expense again. As I searched the internet for some advice, I get different answers. Some people say yes while other say moisturizing cream is enough.

Now, I am confused. But, one thing is sure I don’t want to look old these days because I am still young. I will do what is needed for me to stay young until I reach the age of 40. Hahaha

not so good Monday

Monday is almost over. Anyway, the day isn’t so right despite the fact that it rained. I’m supposed to be happy that finally the farmers can enjoy little rain after about two months without it. But, I am not. Why? Well, it also rains inside the house. You heard it right. It also rained inside the house. The leaks are everywhere.

I’m sure I’m going to lose my sanity if we stay here longer. Good thing I am just waiting until the end of the contract, and then I will move back to my parent’s house without hesitations.

To a lighter note, I am trying to figure out what it phosphacore is or how it work. It says it is a good weight lose product, but it is the first time I heard about it. Well, I don’t really intend to use it for now because I am losing weight gradually. But, learning new information is something different. It might come in handy in the future. So, I will have to dig more information about it.

The new Instant Uplift Bra

Born as Asian, I am not blessed with huge breast volume. But, I don’t consider implants as an alternative. Not only I don’t have money, but I’ve heard about several risks on that one. But, recently I’ve learned about the Instant Uplift Bra, which retails for just £19, the Mirror said. Shaped in the back as a sports bra, the new product is actually a combination of bands that support the breast and create the impression of volume.

The Instant Uplift actually works like a corset of sorts, though minus the decrease in comfort. One band goes under the breasts pushing them upwards, while the straps over the shoulders do the same. This way, the wearer achieves an instant lift without going under the knife and, even better, while still remaining perfectly comfortable. The makers assure women they will not feel any different than from wearing a regular bra, which, of course, they must still wear.

There’s even more good news with this new product, since its unique design in the back also offers proper support, which means it will also improve posture by simply preventing the wearer from hunching. “In a Mirror test, they found the bra was a little bulky and adding an extra layer to an already structured bra was visible through a flimsy T-shirt or a thin jersey dress. But the effect was amazing and no one really noticed the double bra outline at the back – all the attention was up front,” the Mirror writes.

Hmmm, this is something very interesting.

vacation can make a person happy

I have learned from one article I shared in one of my blogs that buying experiences can make a person happier than buying the latest gadgets. I guess it is so true. With our technology nowadays, the latest gadgets are easily replaced by a newer one after a month or two. That’s why the happiness from buying one gadget today will only last for at least a month.

However, buying experiences can last longer like a year or two. Experts suggest that people who take a long vacation tends to be happier as compared to those who don’t. That is the concept my friend is trying to live. She is living a life full of vacation. It was just November of last year when she went to Japan with her mom and brother for a 15 day vacation. Now, I’ve learned she is planning to go to Singapore next month. She is just looking for a friend who might help her in terms of guiding her around the place.

It feels so good to know that she is happy. But, I am a little jealous for not being able to enjoy that kind of experience. I’m still holding on to the Orlando vacation packages I found a long time ago. I’m sure the rates may have changed, but if given a chance I would still grab the opportunity to visit the place. Unfortunately, that would not be possible this time, again.

my brother’s new venture

Now that my brother is thinking about putting up a business of his own. He is starting to think of the best advertisement that is cost efficient. Of course, for his status he can’t afford something like television, radio and newspaper ads. He may opt for online advertising, but he doesn’t intend to offer his services worldwide. He only wants something that will draw attention to his target market.

One of the things he is considering right now is the use of brochures and flyers where he can give away at the malls. For the meantime, he must find an online printing company that he can trust to offer quality service. I know going around town is a bit hassle for him because he got a day job. So, he can only manage to transact and do business to printing companies at night where most local printing offices are close.

Anyway, I just hope he will succeed in his endeavor.

taxing soda could help us lose weight

The truth of the matter is that I love coke. Hubby and I can consume at least one liter in one day. Or if we are experiencing a hot day, we can finish it off in one sitting. We know that it can cause us to increase in weight because we actually gain a lot when we started to drink it regularly. But, we don’t really bother that much since it is quite inexpensive and very tempting.

That is why I agree to the nutritionists and health experts when they thought about soda tax. One that tips the scales in favor of the tax is a recent study that shows that people would be able to lose an average of five pounds a year if soda was more expensive by 18%, because they would ingest comparatively fewer calories over the same period, as USA Today informs.

Of course, if the government place soda tax, the product will have to increase in price which would make consumers less likely to buy it on a daily basis. So, while they would still enjoy a glass of soda or other artificially sweetened beverage, they would not do so as frequently as now. This, in turn, would translate into a decrease in obesity rates and conditions associated with it. Understandably, makers of such products are against the idea and have been struggling to prove it wouldn’t work ever since it was first made public.

However, I am thinking twice about it. I may be in favor of the idea, but other might be very mad at me.

a relaxing Saturday

It’s Saturday once again, time to relax and enjoy the day. Good thing I’m done with my chores yesterday, thanks to the two hour brown out. I find a good reason to get up and fix the house. That means I have more time to spend with hubby today who suggested watching some movies.

But, we can’t find a good movie showing today. So, we decided to just buy an ice cream and go home. After enjoying the yummy treats, we instantly check the web and our blogs. One of the things I search is about gold investment.

I’ve heard gold futures are on the rise these days. They say gold prices are benefiting from the weakness of the dollar since the dollar and gold have always moved inversely to each other so it is no surprise that gold is doing so well in this economy. I guess it is the best time to buy gold bars if this is the case.

Another fact is that gold set for an April delivery rose $5.10 or 0.5%, settling at $1,142.70 an ounce. Gold is reaching the 2010 high which was set on January 11th when gold closed at $1,151.40. We may just see gold reach a new high for 2010 in the coming days.
