While searching the web for requirements to apply for a master degree in business administration, I found gmat as one. What is it by the way? The truth is this is the first time I’ve heard about it. Why is that so? Well, the reason is simple; this is mostly applicable in the U.S., Canadian, and European business school MBA programs.
The GMAT stands for Graduate Management Admission Test administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (or GMAC) and required for admission to most U.S., Canadian, and European business school MBA programs. The results can be used for admission to business PhD program as well.
GMAT is a standardized test that helps business schools evaluates applicant’s skills. It also allows them to compare applicants from different backgrounds according to the same numerical scale. This does not test any specific knowledge in business or other subjects. Instead, it measures the applicant’s mental intelligence” such as basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing and the ability to make decisions under time pressure
Along with the undergraduate grades, the score on the GMAT is the deciding factor whether or not the business school will accept the applicant. For that matter, it is important to take the necessary GMAT prep. The key to studying for the test is to start early. Applicants have the option to review their basic math and writing skills.
