becoming an effective leader

becoming an effective leaderTo effectively function as a leader, one must have the knowledge and skills that give them confidence and edge. This holds true in every aspect of organizations including the field of law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire services, disaster response or communication. Being a leader in this field is very tricky and daunting. One wrong move and it stripped someone out of the office.

There are a lot of chief of police and public safety figures that were removed from their ranks because of a wrong decision. Some of those cases were due to ineffective management of their people. That being said, there are preemptive measures to avoid getting into this sad situation. What could that be? That is through continually studying.

Being a leader requires a lot. It requires creative thinking and innovative problem solving and good decision making skills to effectively and efficiently manage the many complex challenges in the rapidly expanding sector of public safety. Some of these are gained through experience, while others through programs like taking up masters in public safety administration.

Beware of Using Out-of-Date Cosmetic Products

Beware of Using Out-of-Date Cosmetic ProductsWe all know that women are known for their propensity to amass things, from jewelry to clothes and cosmetic products and toiletries. Despite repeated warnings from beauticians and health experts, they continue to save their prized possessions – cosmetics and toiletries – past their due date, which puts their health at considerable risk, a recent study indicates.

Almost all products that are used for beautification purposes come labeled with the date when they’re no longer good for use or, if not, with the symbol PAO (“Period After Opening”) and the number of months it’s still good. Most women are well aware of this, yet they rarely pay heed to these details, presumably because they buy so many of these products they forget to check their label to see when they’re no longer good. The bottom line is that only one in four women respect these dates. In doing so, the other three are putting themselves at great risk because cosmetic products are usually perfect environments for bacteria.

For instance, those products meant for the eye area in particular are very dangerous, experts say, but that doesn’t mean that lipstick or lip moisturizers are not just as hazardous. This is why, if checking for the PAO symbol is too much of a bother, we should at least remember the following: mascara is good for three to six months, blusher for 12 to 18 months, lipstick for a year and a half, foundation for half a year, eye shadow for 12 months, liquid eyeliner for three to six months, while the eye pencil can be used for up to two years. Anything beyond this is dangerous, experts say. So, better check your cosmetics now!

interesting program on TV

interesting program on TVWhenever I am bored, I just watch television instead of going out. And I scan the channels until I get the program I liked. Yesterday, I got interested in “the making of transformers.” I like this movie a lot, even the animated series. I am surprised to learn that the action is not just effects. The director, Michael Bay, chooses to blow things in the middle of the city. And, even cast real armies in the middle of the dessert.

Another thing that made me wow is the bumble bee car, which is a yellow Chevrolet Camaro with few enhancement. Actually, all of the cars and trucks used amazed me. All of it looks really good. Thanks to several auto accessories attached. The cars appear different instead of factory styled cars. Hmmm it gives me the idea of enhancing the look of my future car. Hehehe!
