Some Uses of Essential Oils

essential oilThere are many ways to use essential oils for their fragrance and balancing properties. The proportions given for diluting essential oils are a guideline and you can adjust them to your preference. The key is -a little goes a long way. One drop of essential oil is often equal to one ounce of the plant.

  • Bath – Full bath: Add 8-15 drops of an essential oil to the tub after the water has finished running. Stir the water to mix the oils evenly. It is best not to use soap – simply the essential oils. Baths are very effective as you breathe the vapors and absorb the oils through the skin.
  • Massage – Create your own massage oil by adding up to 18 drops of an essential oil to 1 oz of pure vegetable oil, such as jojoba, grape seed or almond. For children use only 6 drops of an essential oil per 1 oz of a carrier oil. The massage oil can be used for a full massage or spot massage at pressure points for quick effect.
  • Compress – Add 6 drops of an essential oil to a bowl of hot or cold water. Submerse a cloth in the water, wring it out and place it on the area needing healing. Hot compresses are useful for muscular pain and cramp relief and cold compresses are useful for swelling or headache.

trying my luck again

It’s been two months and I haven’t heard any news from the companies I applied for. I am still hopeful though that they will give me a call back. I like all of the companies I sent my resumes and I want them to call me back. Of course, I can’t push myself if they don’t really want me to be part of their company. That is the sad thing.

I am desperate to get a job, if possible immediately. It’s too difficult to ask money from hubby every time I want or need to buy something. Even if he is my partner and he told me I can ask anything I need, I am just not used to that. Sometimes, I regret resigning from my super tedious job a year ago. Well, I can’t return time.

All I can do now is to focus on getting a job. I’ll try my luck in call center. Just that I am really good in taking and I am poor in English. If ever this is a good step for me to familiarize the language even better.

my facination with cars

In some way, I have this fascination towards car. I am really dreaming about driving my own car in the future. Aside from a beautiful house, I am also working on buying a beautiful car. The truth is that is still a long way to go. But, it doesn’t stop me from exploring all the possibilities I could get.

I take advantage of my internet at home in checking for different car models. I can’t stop appreciating all the BMW 7 Series after BMW made few alterations on the posterior details. Now it has more stunning proportions and was able to get rid of its ugly details according to Automobile Magazine. However, those cars are too much for me. I feel like forever in saving before I could own them. Even though I am hopeful still I am negative I could afford that, unless I will win the lottery.

So, I narrow down the list and turn my attention to Kia Forte. According to most reviews, this car is a strong contender in every way. It is surprisingly good-looking, enjoyable to drive, and it is budget friendly. This is a car that will not slash my life savings account yet still gives me the comfort of a presentable car.

I am also reading Lexus HS 250h Review. It is much cheaper as compare to BMW, but I am not sure if its price is the same as with those Kia. Well, I can’t go more than reading reviews as of the moment. But, reading these reviews will come in handy in the future or whenever I am ready to buy a car.

recycling ideas

recycling ideasCan you recycle used braces? Well, you can ask your dentist (seriously, sometimes they can reuse the brackets). Keep reading for other metal items you probably thought you couldn’t recycle, here are some of it.

  • Household items (appliances such as refrigerators, curtain rods, lawn chairs, pots, pans, tools) – some recycling programs will take them, but in most areas you have to drop them off at a recycling plant.
  • Paper clips – most recycling programs will take them if they are kept together (put them inside a small cardboard box you are recycling anyway).
  • Staples – hard to recycle, but note that you don’t typically need to take them out when recycling paper.
  • Wire hangers – take them to your dry cleaner; some recycling programs will take them.

Doing this will give you an easier than remembering to put in your retainer. In many places, you can chuck your metal items in your recycling bin. Another is, less energy use. According to the EPA, 75% of trash can be recycled, but only 25% actually is and metal recycling results in 74% less energy use. Lastly, there will be a less mine waste. Metal recycling creates 97% less mine waste than producing virgin metal.

five minutes with a woman

Last Saturday, hubby and I went to the mall to have some fun. Out of nowhere one woman approached us asking for five minutes of our time. We are also curious of what she offers. So, we follow her and went to the table in the corner. And she instantly laid out some papers with insurance quote. Just like that we already get the insurance quote her company offers and she also explained the benefits we could get from it.

Sounds interesting, but our mouths drop as we studied the premiums we have to pay. Gosh the amount is way beyond our capacity to pay. If we intend to get one now, we would take the necessary research to compare rates and the benefits we will get. We will not just jump to whoever comes first. I don’t want to feel burdened in the future.

buzz from my long time friend

I just don’t know what to write earlier this day. So, I choose to shut down my computer. However, before I could hit the shutdown button, one of my long time friends gave me a buzz. I’d rather stay for a while to know what he’s been up to now that he is in the US with his wife.

Earl actually is my long time friend since college and he went to the US because his wife petitioned him. The first thing he reports is his new job. He’s been very busy with it and just requested a two day leave because he needs to help his father-in-law’s disability appeal. He was denied for his SSDI benefits because of certain reason, which my friend did not put into detail.

Well, it’s kind of fun talking to him once again. As I asked whether or not he already has a kid, I did not get any response. Why could that be?

dealing with our everyday life

For about a year now, hubby and I were just renting a house. It’s not like we don’t have any options at all. Some of our friends gave us some advice to get a housing loan. We haven’t taught about it yet since we are a bit busy dealing with our everyday life. And we tend to forget our future.

As I weigh things tough, our friends got a point. We could use our rent to pay for the amortization instead. In the long-run we are not just paying for nothing, we will own the house after some period. It’s actually a good idea. The problem is that we are doubtful if there will be a Mortgage Lending company willing to give us the loan we need.

Reality check, we don’t have a good credit standing. For sure it will hurt us a lot especially on the interest rate we are going to pay. We could be doomed if we will not evaluate things properly. However, as I scour the net, I’ve learned that we should first repair our credit. Doing so will help us save hundreds of dollars from the monthly interest.

I noticed that there are lots of mortgage lending company in the US that offers credit repair for no monthly fee. Also, they give expert advice on resolving outstanding credit issues. Plus, most of them give instant quotation. I bet this is already a good deal. Of course since there are a number of lending companies, it would be better to take the necessary precautions. You might end up paying a lot instead of saving. It pays to compare the rate as well as the term they offer.

As for us, we still need to do what needs to be done. We have to fix our credit scores so will be able to get back on track. From then on we can make further actions.
