There are things in your pantry you can grab for some quick sunburn relief.
- Oatmeal is extremely soothing, as long as it’s mixed in with bath water, and not rubbed or scrubbed on the skin. It’s recommended even for babies. Cornstarch and baking soda can work too.
- Vinegar although there has been little scientific research behind this, vinegar is said to have antimicrobial properties. Warning: do not apply it on a burn that has already developed into a blister. Try apple cider vinegar, and stay away from anything with chilli in it.
- Cucumber Known for its cooling and soothing properties, slices of cucumber can help alleviate discomfort from extra hot skin. Anything cold for that matter will serve the same purpose, like a slice of watermelon.
- Guava leaves they’ve long been uses as a cure-all. Boil some in water, and let the tea cool. Apply on sunburned area using a compress.
