Here are some tips to avoid family conflicts on young adults who move back to their parent’s home.
First, as much as possible, children should contribute what they can at home; it may not be in terms of money but being a productive family member will help them earn their keep. This could involve teaching younger siblings or helping parents doing with the chores and errands.
Second, these so called returnees should not expect their parents to rescue them from their difficulties. As young adults they should be responsible enough to fix their troubles and they should try to avoid it as much as possible.
Lastly, they must respect their parents and own needs for independence. It is unrealistic for parent’s lives to still revolve around the needs of a grown up child, in the manner they may have when the child was younger.
