Well, I didn’t know this not until now. While doing some internet hopping I have learned that a full handbag can weigh as much as 10 pounds, so it’s no surprise that carrying one over your shoulder can cause neck and shoulder problems. That simply answers my neck pains after strolling the mall. From now on I will try to keep my bag as light as possible and alternate it between shoulders regularly. Or better yet I should buy and use smaller bag that I can swap back and forth from hand to hand.
December is a time of yuletide season however here in my place its also the time of rain..
i woke up this morning feeling lazy, timid and shivering and i blame the weather for that! because its raining since last night.. but sad to say i have to report to the office.
On my way, i passed through a flooded road where some men have had the opportunity to make some money. how? well they would push stranded vehicles in that area whose engines are no longer functioning and they are paid for that.
As i arrived, i got a long list of things to do and it includes field work. come to think of it! i have to go to many places while the rain continually filling the city with water.
but i have to do my job.. so i went through those heavy rain drops with my stuff and i just soak myself with rain water! and there goes my day! soak in the rain…
Hey guys if you are looking to replace your plain pillowcases, I tell you don’t buy new ones just yet. A little work with scrap fabric will do the trick on your old pillowcase. Trust me this really works. Here’s how to make: first, measure the opening of the pillowcase. Then, cut the printed fabric in the same length, and about five inches in width. Have half an inch allowance on all sides. Take the plain pillowcases and sew the printed fabric onto the edge of the pillowcase. Well, you can always do some variety, such that you can use square cut outs of various sizes. And, follow the above procedure. Isn’t that simple!
Did you know that the last frontier on earth is being invaded by, shall we say Tourist? Yes from the title of my post itself, I am talking about Antarctica. I recently saw documentaries regarding these lucrative business, where in anyone as long as you have the money can go and witness the beauty of the Antarctic continent.
I never against the tourist, but I am against to the thought that Antarctica is being exploited. So what happened to the treaties that hoped to protect this magnificent continent? There is a treaty that somehow carry out solution so that this area will be protected from any territorial claim of a country. Yes no one claim this area but there are people who wants to exploit it and used it to gain money and leave the area vulnerable to pollution and environmental degradation.
Who falls victims of these exploitation? Well if we would generally think of Antarctica, its barren, a wasteland, and lifeless but you might be surprised when you suddenly learn that there is life in this land. Indeed there are penguins, sea lions, and the humpbacks whale, they are few the species who lives comfortably in these region. What if oils from the ships who carries passengers spills out, gosh that would be a disaster… It would definitely kill a great proportion of animals not to mention the distraction it could bring to nature. Garbage and other trash used by the passengers may bring pollution.
There are too many possibilities of what Antarctic tourism could bring in this vulnerable environment. The reason why I wrote this to bring awareness that some of the earths region must be preserved particularly the Antarctic region. This is the place where wildlife are the only inhabitants, they are vulnerable and could be phased out when time that this land is totally exploited. When shall the governments acts on this serious matter? Tourism is beneficial to some aspects, that it brings about joy to the people and it could foster economic success to many businessman, but it could also jeopardize the environment of Antarctica. So when do we react?
